East Village

Located North of Houston and south of 14th Street, the East Village has long been a destination for American Bohemia. Recently, it has acquired a hefty downtown price tag but still retains its eclectic and creative roots. Every New York subculture--from yuppie to punk and hipster to hip hop--is celebrated in this inexhaustible grid of drinking, dining, and shops. At the same time, local holdouts preserve the unique individuality of the East Village. The easternmost section is the Alphabet City (Ave A-D) where you still can find the in some of the old East Village flavor.
